Honorable members of the Federal Communications Commission: I urge you to open up currently unused parts of the TV spectrum (the "white spaces") for wireless broadband and other emerging technologies for use by Native American tribes. Many tribal communities lack or have to work around expensive dial-up Internet connectivity. Often our tribal departments, such as Fire and Police, and other vital departments and agencies lack Internet access. High speed Internet could supply additional adequate and reliable public safety communication. Please help our elders, our families, our children and children's children opportunity to choose the 21st century mode of communication when necessary. Please do the right thing and approve the opening up of the unused TV spectrum. It might be one of our best remaining chances to create affordable and truly universal broadband wireless coverage to our Native American communities. I urge you to take this rare opportunity to help us move from the analogue TV to the digital dialogue.
